DC Comic Tattoos for Men
No one can deny the undoubted success of DC Comics and the series and movies they have birthed, but the popularity of DC Comic tattoos for men has skyrocketed in recent years. Many people take to social media sites like Instagram to show off their new art and spend huge amounts of time letting tattoo artists go into great detail to create the perfect permanent picture on their skin.
Interestingly, one character in the DC Comics series actually used tattoos as a superpower. Mark Richards, a member of the Secret Society of Super Villains, claimed the sins of the men he killed are tattooed onto his body to redeem those he has killed. These tattoos peel themselves off through his own will and are directed by him to fight his enemies.
The tattoos people get in the real world aren’t so literally alive, but one of their main draws is that the characters inked can look very much alive on your skin. The attention to detail put into most of the tattoos is astonishing, and can be made to look very much like the comic version of any character. Tattoos have been popular among men for a long time, but people love getting a part of their identity inked onto them, and for many people DC Comics are a part of their identity. In friendship circles, showing your devotion to a specific character that you love can be really cool, and in turn part of your body can become super colourful and striking to others.
In an homage to the fully filled and action packed pages of a DC Comic, many people decide that they will have a sleeve tattoo. These are definitely the most costly and most time-consuming to get done, but when they are finished the end result is astonishing. As the name suggests, your arm becomes a sleeve. These are especially popular as you can cram all of your favourite characters in there, and the fact that there can be no blank space means that they are the most colourful and stark tattoos you can get.
DC Comic tattoos for men have become so popular now because of the legendary status the DC Comics have gained over the years. Before they may have been a niche topic, but with more and more people finding the comics through mainstream sources thanks to the comics’ development into movies and TV shows, everyone can recognise the distinct style of DC Comics layout and their characters.
Why specific people get these tattoos is often an individual decision, but many who get tattoos tend to love showing their interests artistically and would much rather brandish their love of the comics outwardly than hold it inside them and hardly ever talk about it. Tattoos are a great conversation starter, and can help fellow fans recognise each other and become friends over a shared interest. DC Comic tattoos for men may be a phase in tattooing for many artists, but for those brandishing them it’s a commitment for life.
