This tattoo has been designed to look as though the forearm is exposed showing the bones and mechanical workings underneath. The artist has blended a realistic color for the bone and stuck to a palette of greys and blacks for the rest.

Jagged edges have been added to this piece to create the illusion that a section of skin has been lifted up in order to view the inside mechanics. This work is highly intricate and was likely completed over a few sessions.

In this forearm design we can see two distinct pieces that both expose the mechanisms “under the skin”. The two designs are well placed and help to make the tattoo more realistic. Dark grey and blue inks have been used as well as white for contrast.

In this upper sleeve, mechanical elements such as screws have blended with natural forms and shapes such as circles and bones. The base color is sky blue with small patches of green that have been drawn to have a reflective quality.

This flowing design has been created using dark ink and strong outlines with no color. There is plenty of detail; particularly interesting is the gear chain over a mechanical wheel. This tattoo has varied edges that have been completed with sharp lines.

This design is unique among tattoos ideas. Firstly, it looks like a work in progress with some sections only outlined. These sections are, however intricate with bold lines. The addition of luminous green and yellow ink makes this a singular tattoo.

This large design stretches across most of the chest and abdomen and shows a dramatic display of bones and mechanical elements and even what looks like organs. While the tattoo is based in a black ink, splashes of color have been used to draw attention to certain details.

The tattoo artist who designed this artwork invites us to see what lies beneath this upper arm. The rendering shows sharp metal shapes, but deeper still is the profile of a woman. She also has biomechanical elements visible on her chin and neck.

Among biomechanical tattoos this type of design is quite popular. Over the length of the arm we can see details such as gauges, gears and dials intertwined with leather straps and soft gold flowing lines that are more natural.

For this smaller forearm tattoo, the artist has used only black, but has done incredible work in shading the piece to give it dimension. Within this piece we can see a shaft and gears with the numbered face of a dial in the background.
